I’ve been reflecting recently. Do I go the path of a chaplain completely? I want to be a person who can create sustainable community structure and promote resiliency within that community. Environmental, economic, food, reproductive, and water justice are all raising in importance. I want to make community centers that help shelter the community from the brunt of the burden of these devastating catastrophes.
Do I do this as a minister at a congregation, making the congregation a central and functioning 24/7 part of the community? Or do I create interfaith centers that have a focus on sustainability and resilience with a grounding in faith work?
I am certain that ordination and faith play a role in my future. I am certain that I cannot live without doing something justice centered. I need to figure out how to best create the world I hope to live in.
